We are making great progress on restoring service for the Epic Pay mobile app - expect <2 weeks.
We apologize for the inconvenience. How this happened was that when we launched Epic Pay 1.0, it had a single server handling the message passing feature that cleverly works around the interactivity.
This introduced a single point of failure where if that server got ddos'd, people's transactions would get hung up (no, blockchain not affected, only the mobile users). This is obviously not so good.
So, we created a structure where anyone can host their own epicbox server (like a mailbox) and there are currently 3 main public ones and a bunch of individual private ones.
In short, a much more resilient and robust network design without a single point of centralization and potential failure.
